MY GODDAMNED JOURNAL




Today I received a letter from a commissioner who paid via mail, which is not uncommon. However, for the first time ever, the letter arrived obviously tampered with and with ALL contents missing.

Please people, when you send cash or any form of money through they mail, CONCEAL IT WELL. There are more people out there than ever before desperate for some quick cash, mail theft IS on the rise and dramatically so. PLEASE CAREFULLY CONCEAL the cash so it looks like just a normal letter. When you hold the envelope up to the light, you should not be able to see the dark silhouette of anything enticing. Also, tape the envelope shut! Do not rely on just the glue it came with. The envelope I recieved was not taped at all and the outside looked like it received a good enough beating to reveal what was inside via some puncture holes.

So yea, I'm pretty damned pissed off about the fact that somebody riffled through my mail before it arrived and stole all the cash out of one of the envelope.

Just, be careful people, when mailing money. Google "mail theft" today and you will learn some things you never knew before.

Never, but NEVER send cash through mail.
At the very least, they should use a money order if they can't use check. Most bank or Post Office will deliver one without needing any account or ID card. And it cost only 5$. More expensive than paypal, but more secure.

I sugest for people to do what I did and get two bits of card, put the money and note between them then tape around it like crazy. yayyyyy.

Oh, wow I haven't ever thought about mail-theft before. I sure will keep it in mind now that i have read this journal for in case I ever go mail someone some money.
