i have had alot of people in the past either ask me how to draw raptors, or when will i make another tutorial. so here is a tutorial on raptors. grrrr. i hope its understandable and stuff.

This will prolly be edited a few times, i plan to add a new section every now and then. i am open for critique from those who perhaps have had even more experience with dromaeosaurids.

i am always available for redlining.

EDIT LIST:
6/24/10
-added in the halluxes to avoid confusion
-edited a minor wing feather error pointed out by ixerin

I have a better solution than hating on reality: Switch to a different carnivore, like an old favorite, Allosaurus:

It doesn't need to be feathered to be accurate, it's a moderate size between Tyrannosaurus and Utahraptor, around 25-30 feet, AND unlike raptors, this thing used its head like an AXE: [link]

Maybe I should elaborate more:

People don't seem intimidated by birds because there hasn't been that many attacks recorded compared to mammals and reptiles. But the truth is, if you actually delve deeper, you'll realize things aren't as what they appear. Like modern hawks, raptors probably used their sickle-shaped talons to eat their prey ALIVE: [link]

Another dangerous bird to consider is the cassowary. That one is one of the most aggressive birds in the world, and there's been recorded deaths because of that thing's powerful kick: [link]

And in the past, there were man-eating birds like the Haast's Eagle of New Zealand, which had a wingspan of 10 feet, and presumably, Terror Birds, which were flightless, predatory, and huge: [link]

That's typically judging something by looks. It's what they do that's more serious.

You do know that anti-feathered raptors don't exist in prehistory anymore, right? So what you said is pretty invalid.
