Not a bad modification. Certainly something I hope will not come to pass.

:noes: I hope they don't ban all pets.
Pit bulls was enough. And not all of them are bad. Very few are bad... :(

I hope this never happens, great stamp though

The sad and horrible thing is...this is true. Check out this bill they are trying to pass [link] it gets rid of THOUSANDS of species of pets. What is the world coming too?

...that bill is trying to help native wildlife and prevent attacks on humans. I don't see how this is bad. It's not like when they ban a breed of dog because of prejudice--they want to ban animals that do cause significant harm.

I understand that this is very important to you but the original poem was a Holocaust poem and this does demean it in a way. I understand that it is prejudicing pit bulls but it is also an attempt to end pit bull fighting which is a great injustice to the breed and results in the killing of other animals as well in the training. But to compare that to genocide is rather offensive in many ways. Millions died in horrible ways and the pit bull crisis, though in just, is not in the same ballpark.

I'm not suggesting you take it down but the Holocaust is a tragedy of humanity and you just used.

sorry, the original poem i was talking about was also pit bull related, i just changed the end to cover all pets, in the original it ended with "they came for all dogs". i don't know anything about this holocaust poem. this is where i got it from [link]

Oh I'm sorry about that. The original was a Holocaust poem about standing up called "First They Came" about how German intellectuals (because I guess only intellectuals cared {sarcasm}) didn't stand up against the Nazis. Basically it says that none reacted to taking the Communists, Social Democrats, Unionists or the Jews and by then it was too late to stop them in Germany. (link)

I was a little worried at first about posting this because you are so passionate about pit bulls and the dogs need more defenders. (They are attacked on all sides) But I was offended by the Holocaust reference because I believe the two issues are in different fields all together.

oh i see. i think that the poem has been changed enough tho. i guess the original person who adapted it to the pit bull situation just wanted to make a point, but at least everything has been rephrased (instead of some of the words merely replaced). after pets would be our rights to own any property at all, and then maybe our right to have any rights at all, and then who knows what would happen after that, so perhaps its not that different from an imminent holocaust-like situation.
